Now that they are teamed up with a truck driver named Josh, will they find Josh’s family and a safe place from the undead? Will life be able to return to some kind of normality? Go West. Less people, less zombies.

That was the lie that Jeremy Riggins and the group of survivors he was with believed would be their salvation.

Now, he found himself separated from his friends, their safe haven burnt to the ground, and the darkness of the zombie apocalypse setting in.

Reunited with his estranged father, Jeremy is reluctant to believe in the hope of the survivor’s colony in Savannah, GA. He and his band of survivors tried like hell to escape the zombie hordes in the city; he had no desire to go back.

But that’s the thing about Savannah. You can leave, but she’ll always find a way to bring you back.

In this third entry of the Savannah Zombie Series, pick up where A New Darkness left off and find out if Jeremy, Lexx, and Tori can find one another and survive A New Daybreak.

About the Author

Savannah, Ga, where he has lived the majority of his life. Josh has always had a love for writing and creating stories. In his senior year of high school, he and a friend set out to make a low-budget zombie movie. The only thing that was produced was a simple outline of the script. It lay dormant until 2011, where he dusted it off and resurrected it into a novel. He has no formal training, only a passion for reading and writing.

Since the publishing of A New Death, Josh Vasquez has gone on to publish one more book and two short stories in the Savannah Zombie universe. In Fall of 2017, he published a Christmas-themed short story titled North Pole Zombies. Josh is currently writing the third book in the Savannah Zombie series.

In 2020, Josh joined fellow collaborator Adam Messer in starting Valhalla Books, a small book publisher started by Messer in Savannah. While planning the first short story anthology for Valhalla, Adam and Josh wanted to make a book trailer for the book launch and so launched Dead Pixel Pictures, a small production company. The anthology The Devil’s Due and short film The Devil in the Details both premiered on October 31st, 2020, thus bringing Josh’s story full circle back into filmmaking.

Starting 2021, Josh will be relaunching his Savannah Zombie series under the banner of Valhalla Books.

When he’s not writing about himself in third-person, Josh Vasquez lives in Savannah, GA with his wife Laura and two daughters. The city is currently zombie-free.

He says, “You’re welcome.”
